Wool blankets, weighted blankets, and heavy fleece throws are the loads that kill home washers. We wash them in machines sized for them, on their own so nothing else picks up shed fibre.
They come back dried all the way through, not damp in the middle where it turns musty in a closet. Weighted blankets are washed at a temperature that won't hurt the filling. Come in any day, or drop it off and collect it later.
